Now that I'm out of the dorms and living in a pet-friendly apartment, I was finally able to do what I've been aching to do for the past 3 years: adopt a new best friend dog baby!! Poor angel was dropped off at a shelter when her owners couldn't take care of her anymore, then taken to a foster home...but now she's gonna stay with me FOREVER yay! (Kazoo and me the day we met)
I named her "Kazoo" for her buzzy fur and little buzzy bark (she mostly goes "brf" instead of a full out "BARF!") and also because I love weird/funny instruments hehe. She's a year-old cairn terrier mix and is so full of love and playfulness! She plays with anything, from socks to egg cartons to my toes to toys actually meant for dogs. As far as I know she'll eat any food you give her except lettuce and narutomaki.(Kazoo after a walk to Party City)
When I got her about two weeks ago, she was a little underweight and would become distraught whenever she momentarily couldn't see me. But she's already gained a whole pound (which is a lot since she was only 9 pounds to start with), and she seems to be more trusting in the fact that I always come back. Believe me, girlie: as long as I live, you're stuck with me for you as long as you live. Kazoodles!
The place where I'm interning allows dogs, and most stores allow her to come in if she sits quietly in the buggy, so so far she's gotten to come with me wherever I go. Awesomely my school also allows dogs for when I start up again in the fall! She loves jogging and exploring and had a blast at Vasquez Rocks (my favorite hiking place)--she climbed all over everything like a little mountain goat! She knows "sit" and I taught her "spin around" and now we're working on catching treats I throw to her.
Just wanted to share this new happy part of my life. Hope you've had a great summer!
