Now that I've graduated from animation school, my plan up until this point had been to stay in the LA area and get internships/jobs at various stop motion studios. But I realized that I really don't want to do that with my life, especially since I'm a country girl and the city was making me hopelessly depressed. So I moved back home to Texas to pursue my art and animation independently. Maybe some day I'll go back and give the industry another chance, but for now my depression has lifted and I have hope and excitement for my life again. I'm spending time with my family, making my own work, and I no longer have to endure the smog, traffic, and insufferable assholes of LA. (Don't get me wrong--there are great people in LA, such as the wonderful and , but I've had too many bad experiences with assholes to want to keep interacting with those kinds of people on a regular basis.)
You would not believe how horribly I was treated at my last job--I was lied to, blamed for things that weren't my fault, shunned from all contact for up to 7 days at a time,
paid only half of what was promised, and fired without warning just because the guy decided he didn't like my style/designs, even though he hired me and approved my designs in the first place. See what I mean by LA assholes? Fortunately, the person I'm working for now has a soul and has been wonderful to me. I'm making an animated commercial for a company in Australia, all through the internet, and it's almost finished--I've even been paid right so far! I'll post a link as soon as it's up.
On to the feature! There are lots of fantastic art dolls (or room guardians) here on dA, and I'd like to share some of my favorites:
